How buying works

Find a listing, see whether it sells by Buy now or by quote, set the quantity and delivery, then pay or send the request. No account needed to start.

Repackify sells used industrial packaging by the truckload from sellers across the United States. Every listing that is for sale is either a buy-now listing you can pay for online or a quote listing where we price the load for you, and the listing page tells you which before you commit to anything. The same index also carries recycling listings, where a generator is paying to have material taken away; those run the pickup flow in recycling pickups instead.

1. Find the listing

Start at all listings or pick a product on the category pages. A category page is the catalogue for that product; its “Price a truckload” action opens a load builder that reads the quantity and specs from the address bar, so a link someone sends you opens with their selection already filled in. Signed in, you browse the same catalogue; the dashboard links straight to it.

Every listing states a product type, a condition grade, a quantity in stock and a pickup location. Grades are defined per product in Grades and conditions; the listing’s own photos and the seller’s documents sit below the description.

2. Read the listing page

The page has two columns: the photo gallery on the left and a rail on the right with the buy box, description and specifications. Volume price breaks and the seller’s documents are below both. Every specification has a question mark beside it that opens what the term means and links to the guide that covers it. The buy box is where the listing tells you how it sells.

ModeWhen a listing is in itWhat you do
Buy nowPriced, in stock above the checkout minimum, and the seller has not restricted it to quotesSet quantity, delivery address, window and dock, then Buy now to pay online
QuoteNo price, stock at or below the low-stock threshold, below the checkout minimum, or the seller asks for quotesCheck availability; we price the load with freight and send a quote
How a listing decides its sale mode

The mode is worked out live from the listing’s price, stock and settings every time the page loads, so it is never stale. Neither action needs an account up front. Buy now takes you to payment signed in or not. Signed out, the availability form asks for your name, email and phone, and we email a code. Entering it signs you in, creating an account if you have none, and sends the request.

3. Set the quantity and the loads

  • The quantity stepper starts at one full truck when the seller has published a truck capacity, and lets you take the whole sellable stock for a multi-truck order.
  • The order is split into full truckloads, with any remainder on the last truck. An order that needs more than ten truckloads is handed to a quote instead of checkout.
  • A quantity below the checkout minimum is not a dead end: the same controls hand it into an availability request with your quantity, preferred date and address already filled in.
  • Delivery is set once for the order: a delivery window no earlier than the seller’s lead time, an address (your saved warehouses are offered first), and whether the site has a dock. On a multi-truck order every load goes to that address.

4. Pay, or get the quote

On a buy-now listing, once you add a delivery address the buy box shows the delivered price per unit and the total. Buy now asks for the address if it is missing, then opens the secure payment page, with every truckload paid in one transaction. If your company has approved payment terms, you can choose Pay on terms instead and place the order with your PO number and PO file. Add to Cart, under Buy now, keeps the listing in your cart instead, so you can pay for several listings at once; see Checkout and payment. Quote listings go through the quote request; the quote comes back by email with the delivered price and a PDF.

5. Delivery

Once an order exists, pickup and delivery are scheduled on the order itself: the seller proposes a pickup date, you accept or ask for another, and each leg gets a calendar invite when its date is set. See Freight and delivery.

Before you buy

  • Match the grade to the job, not to the photo. Pallet grades explains what each grade is good for.
  • Count the truck. Freight and loading gives units per trailer by product; the calculator gives the exact figure for your truck.
  • Prices on listings are per unit at the pickup location. Freight is priced per load at quote or checkout and shown before you pay.
