Like-new equipment has been in service briefly and shows it only lightly: low hours on the hour meter for powered units, paint and decals intact, and no damage to forks, mast, frame or guarding. Typical sources are dealer demonstrators, low-hour rental returns and surplus from sites that closed early.
It differs from used in how little wear there is to find, and from new in paperwork. The original warranty may or may not transfer to a second owner, and the hour meter is the main record of use, so the reading should agree with the wear on tires, forks, pedals and controls.
Like-new suits buyers who want near-new condition without waiting on a factory build, or who are adding a matching unit to an existing fleet. Ask for the serial number and service records before you commit.
