New equipment is unused material handling or packaging machinery sold by the manufacturer or an authorized dealer: forklifts, pallet jacks, stretch and shrink wrappers, strapping and banding machines, conveyors and pallet racking. It comes with the manufacturer's warranty, manuals and a data plate showing its rated capacity.
Powered industrial trucks are built to the ANSI/ITSDF B56.1 safety standard that OSHA 1910.178 references, and a new truck's capacity plate matches the machine as shipped. With a used or refurbished truck, the buyer has to confirm the plate still matches the mast, forks and any attachment. New wrappers and strappers arrive with current controls and full parts support.
Buy new when the machine will run multiple shifts, when you need a capacity, lift height or wrap pattern the used market does not offer, or when warranty and dealer service are part of the purchase.
