Browse ListingsAbout Like New Plastic Pallets
A like-new plastic pallet has been in service but shows no structural wear: no cracks, no warping, runners and deck intact, only light scuffs or old labels. It should perform to the published ratings of its model, provided you can identify the model.
The difference from used grade is what inspection finds. A used plastic pallet can have chipped edges, gouged runners or slight warping that lower what it can safely carry, especially in racking. A like-new pallet has none of that, so it can go wherever a new pallet of the same model goes.
The practical check is the manufacturer and model marking molded or labeled on the pallet. With it, you can look up the static, dynamic and racked ratings. Without it, treat the racked capacity as unknown and keep the pallets on the floor.
What to Look For When Buying
- No cracks, warping or runner damage; only surface scuffs
- Manufacturer and model marking so ratings can be looked up
- The same model throughout the load
- Deck lies flat on a level floor
- Clean deck with no residue if used for food or pharma
Ideal For
- Closed-loop programs that need uniform pallets
- Food and pharma handling after washing
- Export loops, since plastic is ISPM-15 exempt
- Automated handling once the model is confirmed
Buying Tips
- Ask for the model and its rating sheet before buying for racking
- Ask what the pallets carried before if they will be used for food
- Check a sample from the load for matching model markings
- Wash pallets before food or pharma use
