Browse ListingsAbout New Bulk Bags
A new bulk bag is a woven polypropylene FIBC that has never been filled, so its sewn-in label still describes it exactly: Safe Working Load, safety factor (5:1 for single-trip, 6:1 for multi-trip), construction style and fill and discharge configuration.
Every other grade starts from a bag like this one. A used bag has been through one fill, and whether it can take another depends on that label. A multi-use bag is built to 6:1 for repeat trips. A new bag has none of those questions, and its fibers carry no UV, abrasion or load fatigue.
New is the only option for food-grade and pharmaceutical fills, which call for virgin PP made under a food-safety program, for UN-certified hazmat bags, and for any specification you cannot find used, such as a particular spout, baffle or liner.
What to Look For When Buying
- Label SWL and safety factor match your fill weight and trip count
- Construction style (U-panel, 4-panel, circular, baffle) suits your stacking
- Top fill and bottom discharge match your equipment
- Loop length engages your forklift tines or spreader bar
- Food-grade or UN test certificate if your product needs one
Ideal For
- Food ingredients and pharmaceutical powders
- UN-rated hazardous dry goods
- Custom spout, baffle or liner specifications
- Starting a multi-trip bag pool
Buying Tips
- Buy 6:1 multi-trip bags if you plan to refill, since a 5:1 bag cannot be reused
- Confirm filled dimensions, not nominal, against racking and trailer height
- Ask for the test certificate against ISO 21898 or the UN standard for your bag
- Specify a liner separately if your product needs a moisture or dust barrier
