Browse ListingsAbout Used (Good) Gaylord Boxes
A used gaylord has been filled more than once, or relabeled and resold, and shows it: scuffed walls, old labels and markings, and sometimes short or trimmed flaps. The walls still stand square, the bottom is sound and there is no wet damage or collapsed wall. The market calls this Grade B.
Against like-new, the weight limit on the certificate is less reliable, because compression and handling soften corrugated board. Load a used box lighter than its stamp allows, especially if boxes will be stacked. Short or partial flaps also give the bottom less support than a full-flap box.
Against fair, a used gaylord has no tears, soft spots or patched damage. It is the grade most plants use for scrap collection, moving resin and parts on site, and one-way shipments.
