Browse ListingsAbout Grade B (Good) Pallets
A Grade B pallet, also called a #2, is a used pallet that is structurally sound but has been repaired: plugged stringers, companion stringers nailed alongside a cracked one, or replaced deck boards. It carries a load safely; it does not look new.
Compared with Grade A (#1), the extra repairs mean more variation from pallet to pallet. Replacement boards can differ in thickness and species, and a companion stringer adds width and weight on one side. Automated conveyors and some retailer programs reject that variation; a forklift or pallet-jack operation does not notice it.
Against Grade C, a Grade B pallet has no broken or missing boards and no damaged stringer left unrepaired. It is the grade most warehouses run on for general freight and outbound shipments that will not come back.
What to Look For When Buying
- Repairs are flush and tight: no loose plugs, split companions or raised nails
- No broken or missing deck boards
- Every cracked stringer carries a plug or companion stringer
- Deck stays level across repaired and original boards
- No mold or chemical contamination for food-adjacent loads
Ideal For
- General warehouse and one-way outbound freight
- Forklift and pallet-jack handling
- Floor storage
- In-plant material handling
Not Recommended For
- Automated conveyors and AS/RS that need uniform dimensions
- Programs that require Grade A or new pallets
Buying Tips
- Agree on which repairs are acceptable (plugs, companions, metal plates) before ordering
- Ask for a combo load if part of the order needs Grade A
- Check a sample for consistent size if loads are double-stacked
- Use Grade B for outbound freight that will not come back

Service life
Grade B describes a repaired pallet, not a trip count; inspect before each reuse and keep loads within the pallet design rating.
