International shipments require ISPM 15 compliance for all wood packaging entering most countries. The heat treatment process brings wood core temperature to 56°C for 30 minutes, killing any insects or larvae. Treated crates bear the standardized IPPC stamp.
Export-grade crates can be new or used, as long as the heat treatment is valid and documented. The HT stamp remains valid for the life of the crate unless the wood is contaminated or the crate is repaired with non-treated lumber.
